Frigoboat Keel Cooler - Studs Mount with Zincs. On the outside of the hull, the Studs mounted Keel cooler is identical to the more traditonal Thread mounted model. The difference is the mounting - two threaded studs protrude through the top, and 4 different sized collars are supplied to accomdate different thickness of hulls. The appropriate collar is slipped onto the studs, and then a strongback with nuts is tightened down on the studs to secure the fitting. The keel-cooler must be mounted within 5' of the compressor.
A Frigoboat keel-cooler acts as the condenser for the system. The 134a refrigerant gas is circulated by the compressor, down through tubing inbedded in the bronze where the heat exchange takes place, removing the heat completely from the vessel. No pump! No fan! No noise!
Replacement zincs are available on our website.
